Описание маршрута

𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐡: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐃𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐢 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐣𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫

We walked the whole length of Sharjah west coast from Al Mamzar Dubai border till Ajman border.
We walked via Al Tawun, Layyah, Al Jubail, Al Heera beach areas.

This was a night walk during May to escape from daytime heat.

Our journey began at the Dubai–Sharjah border, near Al Mamzar Beach Park, a popular recreational area shared between Dubai and Sharjah.
This location marks the southern tip of Sharjah’s western coastline, bordering the Arabian Gulf. From here, we followed the path northward, keeping as close as possible to the coast while staying on pedestrian-friendly routes.

𝟏. 𝐀𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐳𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐥 𝐓𝐚𝐰𝐮𝐧
From Al Mamzar, we entered the Al Tawun area. This district is known for its modern apartment towers, shopping centers like Safeer Mall, and proximity to Al Khan Lagoon. The roads here run parallel to the coast, although there are some detours inland due to residential blocks and highways like Al Ittihad Road (E11).

We continued along Al Khan Street and curved around Al Qasba, an area famous for its canal, cafes, and the Eye of the Emirates Wheel. Though slightly inland, this detour will give us a scenic urban experience before reconnecting with the beachside path.

𝟐. 𝐋𝐚𝐲𝐲𝐚𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐥 𝐉𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐢𝐥
From Al Tawun, we moved through Layyah, a district closer to the industrial and port zones of Sharjah. Here, the walk became more utilitarian, with fewer recreational zones and more commercial activity. We passed through areas around the Sharjah aquarium, beachfront hotels, Khalid Port, Flag island, heritage buildings and the Sharjah Fish Market in Al Jubail, a historic and economic center of the city.

The Jubail area lies between Khalid Lagoon and the coastline. It’s a hub of trade, fishing, and markets. The roads here are broader, with more traffic, but there are pedestrian walkways and service roads that allow walking safely.

𝟑. 𝐀𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐚𝐳 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐚
After passing through the busy Al Jubail area, we entered the more serene and scenic Sharjah corniche and Al Heera zones. Al Majaz Waterfront, although a little inland around Khalid Lagoon, is worth mentioning for its green parks and walkways.
Continuing toward the coast, we reached Al Heera Beach, a long stretch of white sand with dedicated walking and cycling tracks, children’s play areas, and public facilities.

This portion of the walk was the most enjoyable. The Al Heera Corniche, recently redeveloped, provided uninterrupted beachside views. The wide promenade is lined with palm trees, fitness equipment, and cafés.
The Arabian Gulf was constantly to our left, while Sharjah’s skyline stood quietly to the east.

𝟒. 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐜𝐡: 𝐀𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐣𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫
The final leg of the walk took us past Sharjah Ladies Club and along Al Muntazah Street, which runs close to the sea and eventually approaches the Ajman border. Here, the coastal path gradually merges with Ajman’s Corniche, signaling the end of Sharjah’s western coastal boundary.

This stretch remained peaceful, with less crowding and a more relaxed, residential atmosphere. The view of the Ajman Corniche buildings in the distance helped mark our endpoint. We had now walked the full length of Sharjah’s western coastline, from Dubai to Ajman, mostly along roads and paths that kept us close to the sea.
