How about an option to download in Garmin MapSource format (.gbd). That would be useful to me at least!

Format .gpx is the standard format for GPS files that can be opened for almost programs, MapSource included. Then, using MapSource you can save this file to .gdb format if you want.

I know .gpx is a good format but unfortunately Garmin's RoadTrip - the Mac version of MapSource does not seem to allow one to import .gpx files, only .gbd. I should be writing to Garmin instead but somehow I don't think they care, they would have fixed this long ago if the cared.

Edit: RoadTrip does in fact import .gpx format, only not the files I download from Wikiloc! Strange!

I think that exist two types of .gpx files, gpx-xml and gpx-file...
I don't know the difference but maybe this is the problem.
You can try to convert files from wikiloc with free program GPSBabel:
